With a playoff win on the line, Morgan County rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They breezed past the Appling County Pirates to the tune of 80-44. The Bulldogs are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 13 straight.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aldarrius Howell, who posted ten points and eight assists. Another player making a difference was Shane Gillis, who put up 11 points.

Morgan County's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points over those games. As for Appling County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.

Looking ahead, Morgan County will take on KIPP Atlanta Collegiate on Saturday. KIPP Atlanta Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Morgan County likes a good challenge. Appling County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
