Basketball Recap: Independence Triumphs

Independence came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 win over the Field Kindley Golden Tornado. The 49-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Independence's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Field Kindley, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Parsons the next time they take the court. Field Kindley will head out to face Parsons on Friday, while Independence will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th.
