Basketball Recap: Ethan Zahn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Huntington North over New Haven

Huntington North lost against New Haven back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huntington North Vikings took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Haven Bulldogs.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Zahn, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 19 points and seven assists. Zahn has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Blaine Freiburger was another key player, going 6 for 7 en route to 13 points.

Zahn wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Huntington North was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Huntington North has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for New Haven, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington North will face off against Norwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Haven, they will challenge East Noble at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
