Baseball Recap: Attica Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Attica came into Thursday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Byron-Bergen Bees on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Bees back in April, they had to take a 8-5 loss.

Blaine Datzler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Attica is 2-1 when Datzler posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Justin Stockweather was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Hunter Green was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Attica's record is now 4-8. As for Byron-Bergen, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Attica didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-2 loss against Kendall on the 9th. Byron-Bergen has also already played their next matchup (against Webber), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
