Baseball Game Preview: Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions vs. Pinnacle Pioneers

For the second straight game, Mountain Ridge will face off against Pinnacle. The Mountain Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Ridge will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Mountain Ridge got the win against Pinnacle by a conclusive 8-2.

Jaggar Wethington tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Coby Neville was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Joe Forbes was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Mountain Ridge pushed their record up to 9-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pinnacle, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8-1.
