Softball Recap: Newberry Takes a Loss

Newberry lost against Clinton back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Newberry came up short against Clinton, falling 16-4. The Bulldogs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Cheyanne Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season.

Newberry's record now sits at 1-5. As for Clinton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6-1.

Coming up, Newberry will square off against Fairfield Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clinton, they will face off against Chester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chester's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Clinton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
