Baseball Recap: Belton-Honea Path Beats West-Oak for Their Third Straight Win

Belton-Honea Path had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the West-Oak Warriors. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 7-0 win on Wednesday.

Ethan McElveen made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Tye Kelley was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was KJ Miles, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.

Belton-Honea Path's record is now 11-9. As for West-Oak, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
