Basketball Recap: Newark Gets the Win

On Monday, the Newark Reds didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Central Valley Academy Thunder, but they still walked away with a 44-40 win. The 44-point effort marked the Reds' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Newark now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Central Valley Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Newark will venture away from home to take on Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomfield will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Newark surely won't give up without a fight. As for Central Valley Academy, they will square off against Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
