Baseball Recap: Spruce Mountain Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Spruce Mountain's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Monmouth Academy Mustangs on Wednesday. The Phoenix haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Spruce Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Labonte, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Spruce Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Monmouth Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spruce Mountain will welcome Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monmouth Academy, they will host Oak Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
