Macomb had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Bushnell-Prairie City on Saturday. The Bombers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans a 7-0 shutout. The Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

The team relied heavily on Kaden Knupp, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Ogle, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two RBI.

Macomb is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bushnell-Prairie City, they dropped their record down to 0-26 with the loss, which was their 17th straight at home.
