Softball Recap: Colton Vikings vs. Western Christian Pioneers
Colton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Western Christian Pioneers, falling 16-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, with their most recent loss being a 35-20 defeat back in April.
Tory Hakes was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
Colton's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Western Christian, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10.
Coming up, Colton will host Sheridan at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Western Christian, they will head out to take on Country Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
