Recap: Faith Christian Patriots vs. Rocky Mount Academy Eagles
On Friday, The Faith Christian Patriots faced the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Faith Christian ended up on the wrong side of a rough 36-12 walloping at the hands of Rocky Mount Academy. It was the first time this season that Faith Christian let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Faith Christian had strong showings from Garrett Lewis, who picked up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Caden Hamlett, who rushed for 84 yards.
Marti Mcknight continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rocky Mount Academy, rushing for 244 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Faith Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Arendell Parrott Academy at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Arendell Parrott Academy is ranked fourth, while Faith Christian is ranked sixth). Rocky Mount Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
