Basketball Recap: Alan Jones' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Opp over Bullock County

Opp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Bullock County Hornets on the road by a 51-32 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 58-46 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alan Jones, who posted eight points and five rebounds. Jeshurun Crittenden was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Opp smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Opp now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Bullock County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-11.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Opp Bobcats take on the Straughn Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bullock County, they will take on New Brockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
