The North Port Bobcats will take on the Parrish Community Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Port hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
North Port's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Charlotte 2-0.

Wes Stines made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because North Port is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise. Stines was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Stines wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Parker Armstrong, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI. That RBI was Armstrong's first of the season.
Meanwhile, everything went Parrish Community's way against Bayshore on Wednesday as Parrish Community made off with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won three matchups by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Francesco Giustino tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Parrish Community got a massive performance out of Billy Mallon, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Mallon a new career-high in RBI (three). Cam Eidson was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Parrish Community's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for North Port, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Port has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Parrish Community struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
