Softball Game Preview: Searcy Lions vs. White Hall Bulldogs

Searcy is on a three-game streak of home wins, while White Hall is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Lions will welcome the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Searcy's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over Batesville. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, White Hall hadn't done well against Greenbrier recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-5.

Bethany Roper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allie Rushing, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Maycey Langston was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

White Hall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive matchups.

White Hall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Searcy, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
