Soccer Recap: Thatcher Wins Going Away Against Sahuaro

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Thatcher). They blew past the Sahuaro Cougars 7-1 on Monday. It was an even better day for Kody Bingham as he scored three goals for his team.

Thatcher used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Sahuaro. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Thomas Chidester, Smith Mangum, and Brasen Penrod. The new lineup might be seeing more playing time going forward considering the group combined for a total of one goal and two assist.

Thatcher now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sahuaro, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

After both having extra time off, Thatcher and Andrada Polytechnic will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Sahuaro has already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Casa Grande on the 18th.
