Volleyball Recap: Palo Verde Takes Down Ranked Desert Oasis

Palo Verde faced Desert Oasis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Diamondbacks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on April 3rd.

Palo Verde never let Desert Oasis on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-24, 25-12.

Palo Verde's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jagger Mendenhall, who had 20 assists and five digs. That's the most assists Mendenhall has posted over his last three contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Manning, who had 14 assists and six digs.

Despite the loss, Desert Oasis still got an impressive performance from Farhan Chowdhury, who had 12 digs and one assist.

The win made it two in a row for Palo Verde and bumps their season record up to 15-8. As for Desert Oasis, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palo Verde will square off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Desert Oasis, they will face off against Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Diamondbacks surely won't give up without a fight.
