Basketball Game Preview: East Peoria Raiders vs. Centennial Chargers

The East Peoria Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Centennial Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

East Peoria is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 21, 2024 on Saturday. They were dealt a 54-25 loss at the hands of Alton. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Centennial came up short against Danville on Friday and fell 65-53. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chargers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Vikings are ranked 295th).

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for East Peoria, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season.

East Peoria ended up a good deal behind Centennial in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, losing 46-29. Can East Peoria avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
