Baseball Recap: Sage Creek Extends Winning Streak to Three

Sage Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the El Camino Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bobcats have posted against the Wildcats since May 14, 2016.

Elijah Stephens made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Stephens was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Sage Creek's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Max Biehl, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Sage Creek: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Sean Saiki was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sage Creek lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

Sage Creek's record is now 8-6. As for El Camino, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
