Volleyball Recap: Avon Extends Winning Streak to Four

Avon entered their tilt with Corsica/Stickney on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Jaguars. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16.

Kaydence Metzger paced Avon's offense, picking up six kills. Metzger got some help from Brielle Voigt and her 13 assists. Voigt was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Avon's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Corsica/Stickney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Scotland on the 4th. Corsica/Stickney has also already played their next match (against Andes Central/Dakota Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
