Basketball Recap: Curwensville Takes a Loss

Curwensville lost against Keystone back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Curwensville Golden Tide took a blow against the Keystone Panthers, falling 70-38. The matchup marked the Golden Tide's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Curwensville's loss came despite strong showings from Chandler English and Davis Fleming. English dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards, while Fleming posted 15 points and five rebounds. Fleming has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 17 times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Curwensville and nudges their season record down to 5-10. As for Keystone, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Curwensville will welcome West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Branch will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Curwensville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Keystone, they will challenge North Clarion at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Keystone is facing North Clarion at the right time seeing as North Clarion is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
