After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paschal, South Hills was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Polytechnic Parrots by a score of 42-30. The Scorpions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Polytechnic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Cecilia Aguilar went 5 for 10 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. Aguilar is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
With the win, South Hills broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-9. As for Polytechnic, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Coincidentally, both will both be playing Trimble Tech the next time they take the court. Polytechnic will head out to face Trimble Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while South Hills will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
