Volleyball Recap: Whitmer Panthers vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets
Whitmer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Yellow Jackets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23.
Perrysburg had a senior duo take command as Ali Cherry had 19 digs and Abigail Bartolo had seven digs and two assists. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Cherry.
Whitmer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Perrysburg, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Looking ahead, Whitmer will welcome Clay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perrysburg, they are taking a road trip to take on Olentangy Berlin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
