Recap: Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans vs. Diller-Odell Griffin
The Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer Titans couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. Their rough 71-45 loss to Diller-Odell on Friday might stick with them for a while. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer lost against Diller-Odell in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-44 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer saw an underclassman step up: Elie Bstandig dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Laramie Glathar, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds.
Myleigh Weers had an outrageously good game for Diller-Odell as she scored 31 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Weers has scored at least 25% of Diller-Odell's points. Jaedyn Hajek was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Diller-Odell, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer will take on Weeping Water at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Weeping Water focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday. As for Diller-Odell, they will head out on the road to face off against Thayer Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
