Basketball Recap: Overton Comes Up Short

Overton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 61-47 bruising from the Power Center Academy Knights. If the Wolverines were looking for revenge after losing 58-50 to the Knights when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Overton's record now sits at 0-5. As for Power Center Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Raleigh-Egypt at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines will be up against the Pharaohs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 69 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Power Center Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Soulsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
