 After a string of ten wins, the Denver West Cowboys's good fortune finally ran out  on Friday. They fell  70-58 to Manual. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
 Despite the loss, Denver West still got an impressive performance from   Jayden Volion, who  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and ten  rebounds. That's the first time this season that  Volion  pulled down eight or more   rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Jacob Dallas, who  dropped  a double-double on ten points and 15  rebounds.
 Denver West's defeat  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-1. As for Manual, their victory was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 8-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Denver West the luxury  of staying home another  game and will welcome Hinkley at 7:00  p.m.  on January 16th. Hinkley will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Denver West is ranked 82nd). As for Manual, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Forge Christian at 7:00  p.m. One thing working in Forge Christian's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last three matches.
