Softball Recap: Milford Drops Season-High Score on Seaford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Milford). Everything went their way against the Seaford Bluejays on Thursday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Tenley Lord made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Lord was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Milford got a massive performance out of Adri Fountain, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Patten, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Milford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seaford only managed three hits.

Milford pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Seaford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milford will venture away from home to challenge Woodbridge at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Seaford, they will head out on the road to face off against Dover at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
