Basketball Recap: South Caldwell's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, South Caldwell couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 54-47 to the West Forsyth Titans on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Titans are ranked 22nd).

Leading West Forsyth to victory were Kamauri Manuel and Jacari Brim. Manuel shot 45% from the field to rack up 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds, while Brim posted 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Brim a new career-high in shooting accuracy (80%). Another player making a difference was Jordan Tate, who put up seven points and three blocks.

South Caldwell's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8. As for West Forsyth, their victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-3.

South Caldwell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Forsyth, they will challenge Watauga at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watauga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 26 games -- so hopefully West Forsyth likes a good challenge.
