Baseball Game Preview: Southridge Spartans vs. Miami Christian Victors

The Southridge Spartans will face off against the Miami Christian Victors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Southridge's win against Keys Gate wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Southridge had just enough and edged out Keys Gate 4-3 on Tuesday. Four seems to be a good number for the Spartans as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Miami Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Immaculata-La Salle 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Victors have posted since March 4th.

Southridge's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Miami Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Southridge couldn't quite finish off Miami Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2021 and fell 5-3. Can Southridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
