Basketball Recap: Memphis Takes a Loss

Memphis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 66-52 bruising from the Wellington Skyrockets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-29 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Memphis still got an impressive performance from Armando Saenz, who went 8 of 18 en route to 23 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Martin, who posted six points and eight boards.

Memphis' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Wellington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.

Memphis will face off against Highland Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Memphis is facing Highland Park at the right time seeing as Highland Park is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Wellington, they will head out to take on Clarendon at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
