Basketball Recap: Cathedral Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Madison Jackson and Raven Williams

If Cathedral Academy was riding high fresh off their 44-8 takedown of Faith Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cathedral Academy Generals took a hard 44-28 fall against the Dorchester Academy Raiders on Tuesday. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Cathedral Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Raven Williams, who posted 13 points, and Madison Jackson, who had 11 points. That was a full 39.3% of Cathedral Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Cathedral Academy dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Dorchester Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Cathedral Academy will head out on the road to face off against Charleston Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral Academy is facing Charleston Collegiate at the right time seeing as Charleston Collegiate is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Dorchester Academy, they will welcome Colleton Prep Academy at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday. Dorchester Academy's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Colleton Prep Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
