Football Recap: Brown County's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Brown County was feeling good fresh off their 42-8 takedown of Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets came up short against the Camp Point Central Panthers on Friday, falling 27-6. The Hornets have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Jasper Flesner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 110 yards and three TDs for Camp Point Central. Those 110 rushing yards gave Flesner a new career-high.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brown County fell to 5-1. As for Camp Point Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Brown County and Camp Point Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hornets (ranked 181st) will meet Beardstown (ranked 388th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Camp Point Central will square off against Routt Catholic/Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (75 vs. 348).
