Softball Recap: Lawndale Cardinals vs. Beverly Hills Normans
Lawndale's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Beverly Hills Normans as they made off with an 18-1 victory. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by ten runs or more this season.
Kelly Bailey and Aaliyah Torres made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Bailey pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Torres tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Bailey a new career-high in strikeouts (three). At bat, Bailey went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Torres got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was Torres' first of the season.
