Recap: Leroy Bears vs. Jackson Aggies

It was a good run, but the Leroy Bears unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Jackson at home and fell 65-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leroy has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Leroy still got an impressive performance from Chauncey Dixon, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. Dixon scored a full 67.6% of Leroy's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Payne, who scored eight points.

Jazmine Jones was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds for Jackson. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Angel Powell was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Leroy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leroy will take on Vigor at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Vigor is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Jackson, they will head out on the road to face off against McIntosh at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Jackson is ranked 44th).
