Calvary Chapel proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 14) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Southlands Christian Eagles, sneaking past 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Eagles since March 20, 2015.

Calvary Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Southlands Christian, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6.

Calvary Chapel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-4 victory against Fairmont Prep on the 2nd. As for Southlands Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Coast Union at 3:15 p.m. on the 15th.
