While losing is never fun, Fort Wayne South Side can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Marion is ranked 95th).
Jaymen Townsend was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Marion. That makes it three consecutive games in which Townsend has scored at least 25% of Marion's points. Another player making a difference was Amar Rogers, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Fort Wayne South Side has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Fort Wayne South Side will head out on the road to face off against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m.
