Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Ready Silver Knights vs. Bexley Lions

The Bishop Ready Silver Knights will challenge the Bexley Lions at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Ready is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Last Monday, Bishop Ready made easy work of Whitehall-Yearling and carried off a 13-5 win. Considering the Silver Knights have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Cheatham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Bishop Ready is 4-1 when Cheatham posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

In other batting news, Lincoln Miller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kasen Abbott, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Bexley sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Whetstone on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Bishop Ready now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Bexley, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.
