Baseball Recap: Bartram Trail Takes a Loss

Bartram Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fletcher Senators. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Senators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Bartram Trail got a good showing from Coleson Baum, who tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Jonathan Bay was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Phin Huber also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Even though they lost, Bartram Trail lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Bartram Trail's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Fletcher, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartram Trail will square off against Creekside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Creekside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Bartram Trail's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Fletcher, they will face off against St. Joseph Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Joseph Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
