No. 1 St. John Bosco and No. 2 Mater Dei have final tuneups before postseason play.

Three top 25 matchups between Trinity League foes are on the docket in the final week before the postseason begins.

State No. 1 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) takes on No. 6 Orange Lutheran (Orange) on Friday. The Braves have scored at least 40 points in the last eight matchups against Orange Lutheran and haven’t lost since 2010. With senior Caleb Sanchez at quarterback, St. John Bosco is No. 3 in the nation after taking down previous No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana) 28-0 on Oct. 13.

Mater Dei is ranked No. 2 and host No. 9 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita). Mater Dei has averaged 40 points per game this season behind senior Stanford commit Elijah Brown at quarterback. Santa Margarita is 5-4 on the season and the Eagles are coming off a 50-42 loss to Servite last week.

No. 15 Servite (Anaheim) was led by senior quarterback Leo Hannan, who threw for 343 yards and four scores in the victory. This week Servite hosts No. 18 JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano) in a match between 1-3 league squads. The last three times these teams have played, the game has ended in a shutout with JSerra Catholic winning last season and Servite winning in spring and fall of 2021.
