Softball Game Preview: Williamsburg Wildcats vs. Archbishop McNicholas Rockets

The Williamsburg Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Williamsburg's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Archbishop McNicholas' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Williamsburg took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Clermont Northeastern get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Badin hit Archbishop McNicholas with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets lost 12-2 to the Rams. The Rockets have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Archbishop McNicholas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Laudeman, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Williamsburg's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3.
