Basketball Recap: Lanaya Valentine Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Carver A&T

Dundalk hadn't done well against Carver A&T recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The stars were shining brightly for the Dundalk Owls in a 45-26 victory over the Carver A&T Wildcats. For the Owls, this counts as revenge for the 50-32 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Dundalk's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lanaya Valentine, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. That's the most points Valentine has posted since back in January. Jamie Maney was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Dundalk smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Dundalk now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Carver A&T, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dundalk will take on Parkville in a holiday battle at at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Carver A&T and Lansdowne will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
