Baseball Recap: Henderson County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Henderson County had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Webster County Trojans on Wednesday. The Colonels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Trojans, too.

Henderson County got a great performance from Cole Thompson as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Thompson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hunter Evans, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Siewert, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Henderson County's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Webster County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

Henderson County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
