Palmyra takes loss despite strong efforts from Noah Lang and Draven Priel

Recap: Palmyra Panthers vs. Johnson County Central Thunderbirds
This season hasn't been kind to the Palmyra Panthers, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a 55-37 bruising from Johnson County Central on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Palmyra can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Johnson County Central is ranked 47th).
Palmyra's loss came despite strong showings from Draven Priel and Noah Lang. Priel scored seven points along with six rebounds, while Lang scored ten points. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Palmyra's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Johnson County Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Palmyra will be playing in front of their home fans against Weeping Water at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Weeping Water focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Johnson County Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Louisville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
