Basketball Recap: Pawnee Heights Comes Up Short

Pawnee Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 44-16 loss at the hands of the Hodgeman County Longhorns. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mallorie Ruff was a one-woman wrecking crew for Hodgeman County as she posted 23 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Ruff a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Bamberger, who put up eight points and three blocks.

Pawnee Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Hodgeman County, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Pawnee Heights is taking a road trip to square off against Ashland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hodgeman County, they will face off against Minneola at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hodgeman County's defense has only allowed 27.9 points per game this season, so Minneola's offense will have their work cut out for them.
