Volleyball Recap: Newman Catholic Comes Up Short

Newman Catholic was the 2-0 winner over Antigo when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Fighting Cardinals fell just short of the Red Robins by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.

Despite the defeat, Newman Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brooke Thiel had four digs and four aces.

Newman Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Antigo, they moved to 5-13 with that win, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

Newman Catholic has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Tomahawk on the 25th. As for Antigo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Prentice on the 25th.
