Baseball Recap: Lockport Wins Going Away Against Chicago Mt. Carmel

Lockport's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Chicago Mt. Carmel Caravan. That's more bragging rights for the Porters, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Anthony Farina looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Drew Satunas was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin VanderTuuk, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Lockport was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chicago Mt. Carmel only posted a batting average of .043.

Lockport's record now sits at 4-1. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Lockport will face off against Oak Park-River Forest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chicago Mt. Carmel, they will square off against Andrew at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Andrew will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chicago Mt. Carmel surely won't give up without a fight.
