Soccer Recap: Jurupa Hills Finds Playoff Glory Versus Calabasas

Jurupa Hills had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Calabasas Coyotes 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Spartans were the better team in the second half.

Mateo Soria was the driving force of Jurupa Hills' attack as he scored both of Jurupa Hills' goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

Jurupa Hills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Calabasas' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Jurupa Hills will head out to face off against Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Valley View has won three straight at home, while Jurupa Hills won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Calabasas does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
