Regents had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Manchester Academy Mavericks on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on five straight.

Henry Edwards spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hayes Leach, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Hill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.

Regents' win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Manchester Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-6.

As of now, neither Regents nor the Mavericks have any future games scheduled.
