Basketball Recap: Leesburg Skates Past Springstead with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, Leesburg rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They breezed by the Springstead Eagles to the tune of 77-31. The Yellow Jackets have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Leesburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Angelo Moton out in front who posted 15 points. Jalen Brown was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Springstead lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alejandro Arenas, who had eight points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Sayre, who put up 12 points.

Leesburg's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Springstead, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season.

Leesburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-46 victory against Lecanto on the 7th. Springstead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
