Basketball Recap: Clewiston Falls to Labelle in First Game of Season

Clewiston had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were beaten by the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls 81-31 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaBelle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jerrahd Williams, who went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Williams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games he's played dating back to last season. Kaleb Mclymont was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 19 points and four steals.

Coming up, Clewiston is taking a road trip to take on Seminole Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaBelle, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-50 defeat against Lely on the 19th.
